CRA Authorized Representative
Granting your bookkeeper access to your CRA account as an authorized representative is optional (But ideal if they’re going to be filing HST on your behalf). It gives them the ability to view and make limited updates to your CRA account (such as viewing tax information or updating program information). Check out this CRA page for more details.
Instructions to Grant Access
Ready to grant your bookkeeper Authorized Representative status on your CRA account? Follow these instructions to get it setup.
Step 1: Log In
Log into your CRA account.
On the left navigation (if there is no navigation visible, like on mobile, there will be three horizontal lines near the top left to click), choose “Profile”

Step 2: Authorized Representative(s) Box
Scroll down the page to the Authorized Representative(s) box. You may already have an accountant or tax preparer authorized, which is fine. Click the tiny little “+Add” button in the top-right corner

Step 3: Click Start
Click start and go through the process.
Your bookkeeper will provide you with their RepID or other code.
Step 4: Let Me Know
Let me know that you’ve completed this because the CRA does not inform me when it’s done.
And that’s it, you’re done!
